The Gobi is not what you imagine.
It is not endless sand. It is not empty.
It is red sandstone cliffs that glow like fire at sunset. Ice that persists deep in canyon shadows through the height of summer. Dunes that rise 300 meters from the desert floor and hum when the wind moves across them. Dinosaur bones emerging from ancient earth. Nomadic families who have organized their lives around this landscape for generations — and found it generous.
This seven-day retreat is designed for women who want more than travel. A reset. A return to something quieter, clearer, and more grounded. Far from schedules and expectations, you will wake with the light, move at your own rhythm, and spend your days beside one of the world's most ancient and pristine lakes. Led entirely by a female Mongolian guide, this journey is not about rushing — it is about feeling. Come as you are. Leave as yourself.

Quick Facts
Region: Southern & Central Mongolia
Duration: 14 Days / 13 Nights
Travel Type: Overland expedition
Best Season: May–October. Best: September
Access: Road travel from Ulaanbaatar
Group Size: 2–12 travelers.
From Ulaanbaatar, the route moves south through the steppe-to-desert transition zone — arriving first at Baga Gazriin Chuluu, a protected area of dramatic granite formations, mineral springs, and ancient petroglyphs rarely visited by standard tours.
Continuing south, the journey reaches Tsagaan Suvarga — towering cliffs of layered rock formed by an ancient seabed — before entering the Gurvan Saikhan mountain range and descending into Yol Valley, where a narrow canyon shelters persistent ice formations through the summer heat.
From Yol Valley, the route travels west to Khongoryn Els — the Singing Dunes. At 300 meters, these are among the largest sand dunes in Central Asia. A full day here includes a camel ride with local herder families and time to climb the dunes at both sunrise and sunset.
The route then moves east to Bayanzag — the Flaming Cliffs — before turning north toward Ongiin Khiid and beginning the transition out of the desert into the Khangai Mountains.
Shargaljuut sits in a mountain valley at 1,492 meters. Over 300 hot springs emerge across the surrounding landscape, each with different mineral compositions. Three days here are structured around therapeutic treatment, rest, and mountain walking.
The return passes through Kharkhorin and Erdene Zuu Monastery before ending at Khustai National Park — where wild horses move across the hills at dusk, bringing the journey to a quiet and powerful conclusion.
